While we are still characterizing our particles to try and increase drug loading, we were able to successfully synthesize and functionalize both dendritic MSNs and MCM type 41 MSNs. Furthermore, we were able to validate a high performance liquid chromatography analytical method for reading cisplatin concentrations, and we were able to attempt to optimize cisplatin to MSN drug loading ratios. In future studies, we hope to further examine how we can improve our cisplatin loading, and then hopefully move onto in vitro release and biodistribution studies.
